South County Dublin Votes No to Fluoride

Are we another step closer to ending water fluoridation? Councillors from South Dublin County Council passed a motion this month calling on the government to end water fluoridation. Many thanks to Councillor Danny O' Brien (SF) who put forward the motion and who explained to Councillors that not only do we we have enough fluoride in toothpaste today but that the so called optimal dose (difficult to define given that we all drink varying amounts of water) is too close to the level that causes harm. Fantastic to see how councils throughout the country are representing the wishes of their constituents. Grassroots power is the way to create positive change.
