It was a dream come true to see Erin Brockovich speak out against fluoridated water on the Dr Oz Show. There are so many people now speaking out against this outdated practice. Politicians have promised in the past to get rid of fluoridated water but those promises were never kept. Until we have a collective mind set shift about this issue will we see change.
"This paper reviews the human health effects of fluoride. The authors conclude that available evidence suggests that fluoride has a potential to cause major adverse human health problems, while having only a modest dental caries prevention effect. As part of efforts to reduce hazardous fluoride ingestion, the practice of artificial water fluoridation should be reconsidered globally..."
The fact that fluoride is an insidious poison, harmful and cumulative in its effects, even when ingested in minimal amounts will remain unchanged no matter how many times it will be repeated in print that fluoridation of water is safe. Written by Ludwig Gross, Former Chief of Veterans Administration Cancer Research, Bronx, New York.
In Holland Dr. Moolenburgh found himself in a unique position to study the effects of fluoridation first hand, as half of his practice lay in Heemstede (fluoridated) and the other half in Haarlem (non-fluoridate).“The adverse health effects began almost at once, with people, especially children, developing colicky pains. I also saw how children with a known allergic condition that had been under control, such as children with atopic eczema, suddenly saw a return of their complaints.”
Erin Brockovich posted the following message on her Facebook account yesterday calling for an end to fluoridation, for hearings to hold public officials accountable, for organizations to rescind their endorsements, and for further research on removing accumulated fluoride from our bodies:

Pre-tax profits at the firm employed by the Government to deliver the material used for the contentious fluoridation of the State’s water supply last year jumped by 56% to €1.16m.
New figures show that pre-tax profits at Chemifloc Ltd increased by €416,776 from €744,548 to €1.16m in the 12 months to the end of last December.
The firm has the contract to deliver the hydrofluosilicic acid from a source in Spain that is required for the fluoridation of the State’s water supply.
Between 2009 and 2013, the State spent €9.7m on supplying the hydrofluosilicic acid.
Chemifloc was first awarded the hydrofluosilicic acid contract in 1991.
The main activity of the company is the manufacture of water treatment chemicals and according to the directors’ report “both the level of business and year end financial position were satisfactory given the current economic climate”.
The firm recorded the increase in pre-tax profits after its gross profit jumped by 15% from €4.346m to €5m.
The firm was established over 30 years ago by Hilary Lawless and his colleagues and at the end of last December it had accumulated profits of €12.83m.
At Ennis District Court last year, the firm only avoided a conviction concerning a chemical spill after confirming to court that it was to fund a €10,000 university science scholarship at the University of Limerick for a Clare student and pay costs of €3,152 and expenses of €1,562.
In the case, the firm pleaded guilty to two offences arising from a Health & Safety Authority investigation relating to the uncontrolled emission of a yellow-green gas on its premises in December 2012.
Arising from the chemical spill, a Chemifloc employee spent two days in intensive care, with a second spending five days in a hospital high dependency unit, along with a further six hospitalised.
Chemifloc pleaded guilty to failing to manage work activities in such a manner to ensure the safety, health, and work of its employees which as a consequence resulted in employees Eugene Flanagan, Martin Hehir, Jack O’Malley, John Dillon, Anthony O’Sullivan, Susan O’Donnell, Mary Collins, and contract truck driver Patrick Glynn sustaining personal injury.
On the 3rd of October 2001 the Food Safety Authority of Ireland supported the position, that because of evidence " infant formula should not be reconstituted with fluoridated tap water." They felt that "Irish tap water was not safe to make up a baby's bottle." The public was not informed- the report was buried. We believe every child has the right to pure healthy water.
A Steady Stream of Victories
February has been a very good month for the fluoride-free movement, not only due to the publication of two great studies showing the link between fluoridated water and an increase in under active thyroid functions, but also due to a steady stream of communities ending the practice, with even more on the verge:
South Dublin, Ireland—South Dublin County Council become the 5th major council calling for an end to fluoridation in 2015 and the 10th in the past year, collectively representing more than 2 million Irish residents. This comes less than a month after councillors in Cavan County and the community of Galway both passed motions calling for members to register their opposition to fluoridation.
